What does zodiac compatibility mean here?
This calculator looks up three traditional relationships between the twelve earthly branches associated with animal signs. It gives their names and a short, original reflection. It does not combine birth charts or rank a partner, friendship, or marriage.

Each branch has a paired combination. The six pairs used in this lookup are:

When two different signs belong to the same group, the result says they share a group. That is different from having all three branches together.
Oppositions · Liu Chong
The six opposing pairs are Rat–Horse, Ox–Goat, Tiger–Monkey, Rabbit–Rooster, Dragon–Dog, and Snake–Pig. “Clash” is a traditional term for that opposition. It is not evidence that two people cannot get along. Other traditional relationships, such as harms and punishments, are outside the scope of this tool.
Why use a full birth date?
The animal year begins at Chinese New Year. Someone born in January or early February can belong to the previous year’s animal. The birth-date option uses the same checked date boundaries as our Chinese zodiac calculator; the animal-sign option uses your chosen signs directly.
Can I use this for friends or family?
Yes. The reflection prompts concern communication and cooperation. None requires a romantic relationship.
Why is there no compatibility percentage?
These are named relationships in a traditional system. They do not produce a measured probability of a successful relationship, so we show the rule and its scope instead.
